1.4 BOARD COMPOSITION Board members will represent the community and will include members with a wide range of skills, interests and perspectives to meet the Agency’s needs such as:
The composition of the Board will have regard for the diverse characteristics of the community served. Each member of the Board of Directors will also be a member of the Agency. The by-laws of the Agency further stipulate the eligibility criteria for its Board of Directors. Further to that by-law, prospective Board members who are in and/or have immediate family in active service at the Agency may not serve on the Board of Directors. After their and/or their family, involvement with client service has been inactive for at least one year; they may seek nomination to the Board. As defined in the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the immediate family would include, grandparents, parents, foster parents, brothers, sisters, spouse, common-law spouse, children, in-laws, step-parents step-children, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
