4.3 BOARD MONITORING OF THE AGENCY
POLICY
To ensure that the Board is adequately informed in order to perform its duties in a responsible manner.
PROCEDURE
The Board will identify vehicles and tools for use in its regular monitoring of its policies. The frequency with which each policy is monitored will be determined by the Board.
Monitoring tools will include:
- financial statements, annual audit reports;
- annual Executive Director performance review;
- number and pattern of client and/or community complaints;
- number and pattern of serious occurrences;
- number and pattern of staff grievances;
- Executive Director’s reports to the Board;
- survey of staff, clients, the Agency’s membership and the community;
- annual quality improvement report;
- Board self-evaluation;
- external evaluator or consultant reports and
- service statistics.
