Community Service Order

The CSO/PSO program is a community based sentencing option ordered by the Ontario Court of Justice as a condition of Probation or a Conditional Sentence.

The CSO/PSO program is provided in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (youth ages 12 to 17) an the Ministry of Community and Correctional Services (adults) and administered through St. Leonard's Community Services.

A CSO/PSO order requires the individual to perform a specific number of community service hours (up to a total of 24o) within the community. The Judge will specify the number of hours to be completed on the Probation Order or Conditional Sentence. CSO/PSO placements range from non-profit, charitable organizations to local service organizations in the community and tasks vary from assisting in senior's and nursing homes, community soup kitchens, community parks and recreation areas to calendar events such as the Brantford Rotary Classic Run and Brantford Rotary Lobsterfest fund raiser.
