2.2 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S COMMUNICATION TO THE BOARD
The Executive Director will keep the Board informed. Whenever possible Board members will be well informed of an issue in advance of deliberations and decision-making. Consequently, she/he will:
- advise the Board of relevant trends, anticipated negative media coverage, significant external and internal changes and public events as related to the Agency;
- submit the relevant monitoring data in a timely, accurate and understandable fashion, directly addressing Board policies being monitored;
- provide as many points of view (from staff, community, clients, etc.), issues and options as needed for fully informed Board choices and decisions; and,
- report any non-compliance with any laws, regulations or Board approved policy.
Executive Director reports to the Board will include:
- new government policies and directions;
- lawsuits and potential lawsuits;
- progress on policies and strategic directions;
- non-compliance of Board approved policies;
- identification of any policy gaps and revisions;
- changes that have a major impact on staff;
- critical incidents with a significant impact on the Agency; and,
- non-compliance of legislative requirements.
