3.2 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Board’s official link to the operations of the organization, the Executive Director is accountable to the Board for all organizational performance and exercises all authority transmitted to the organization by the Board.  It is the responsibility of the Board to ensure that the Executive Director has a current job description that is reviewed and revised, as needed, on a regular basis.  The Executive Director’s performance will be considered in the context of organizational performance. 
The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the policies and directions of the Board.
The Executive Director manages the staff, operations, facilities and services for the Agency.

The Executive Director acts as a professional advisor to the Board and in this capacity, will recommend appropriate policies, directions and priorities for Board consideration.  The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the President and the Board are accurately and fully informed regarding the Agency’s services, business and finances.

The Executive Director works in partnership with the President and the Board and in this capacity takes on the responsibilities (with the President) to establish a supportive and productive relationship.
