6-330 JOB VALUES
Approved October 2003

POLICY

Job descriptions are reviewed by the Job Valuation Team to determine the value of the job.

PROCEDURE

Job values are determined using a gender neutral comparison system, which assigns point values based on the following factors and subfactors:

FACTOR                   SUBFACTOR

Skill                           Mental
                                 Physical

Effort                         Mental
                                 Physical

Responsibility             Planning
                                  Documenting
                                  Regulations
                                  Finances
                                  Facilities
                                  Internal Communications
                                  Community Relations
                                  Marketing
                                  Client Service

Supervision                Human Resources

Working Conditions   Mental
                                  Physical

Jobs are assigned a job value based on points awarded from all factors.  When a job is revalued, the incumbents will not be required to compete for their own “revalued” job.
