6-140 PART TIME POOL

POLICY
The Agency utilizes an inter-departmental part time staff pool that consists of well-trained part time staff capable of responding to the needs of a variety of Agency departments.
PROCEDURE
- When part time staff are hired, they will be hired for regular part time status within a specific department. Part time staff who are interested in joining the part time pool may become eligible after working three months.
- Part time staff interested in joining the part time pool should discuss his/her interests with his/her immediate Supervisor and indicate the program where they would like to work. The immediate Supervisor will determine readiness and suitability based on related education, experience and job performance.
- When a part time staff member has been recommendedfor the part time pool, his/her immediate Supervisor will contact the Supervisor/Manager of the other programs to inform them that they have a part time staff interested in joining the part time pool forthe respective program.
- Staff in the part time pool will receive training in the programs that interest them, and when they have demonstrated a level of competence in the program, they will be recognized as eligible to work in that department.
- Each department will receive a list of staff in the part time pool outlining his/her level of seniority and the departments in which the staff are eligible to work. The Human Resources Administrator will revise, update and distribute the list as changes occur.
- Staff in the part time pool will be responsible for ensuring that they do not exceed 44 hours weekly, unless specifically directed to do so by his/her Supervisor.
- The staff will be responsible for recording his/her hours in all departments.
- Managers and Supervisors will request updates and feedback on all part time pool staff who have worked in his/her program. These updates will be given to the home department Supervisor and utilized during supervision meetings and during the performance evaluation process.
