POLICY
Staff qualifications and skills will be consistent with the Agency mission and services being provided to clients. The policies and practices outlined in the Agency Recruitment and Selection Manual (Appendix 1) ensure that only qualified individuals will be recruited and hired.
PROCEDURE
The minimum number of qualified staff on duty will comply with government regulations (CFSA Standards) and is outlined in the departmental staff handbooks to ensure that the treatment needs of clients are met.
Qualifications and responsibilities are outlined in all Agency job descriptions and Human Resources files.
Documentation in Human Resources files includes copies of degrees, diplomas, licences and certificates, which verify the professional credentials of staff.
The policy applies to all categories of employment and to all job classes within the Agency including management, accounting, human resources and direct client care positions.
