POLICY

The Agency maintains a Staff Fund for the purpose of subsidizing Agency social functions which are accessible to all staff, providing expressions of sympathy to staff members’ immediate families, celebrating the additions to staff members’ families and conveying our thoughts to staff who are sick.

PROCEDURE

The Agency will deduct a non-refundable contribution of $0.25 per day based on eight hours worked from all staff.

Eligible Agency social functions are those activities approved in advance by the Management Team.

When an expression of sympathy or celebration is required, the affected staff’s department will contact the Payroll Administrator and provide the necessary details.  The Payroll Administrator will arrange for flowers to be sent or for a donation to be made in memory of the deceased.  If a staff member is off sick for 5 consecutive days, then the staff’s department will notify the Payroll Administrator and arrange for flowers to be sent. 

The Staff Fund Deduction Acknowledgement Form is contained in Appendix 8 to the Human Resources Policy.

There will be a staff fund bank account and an annual report regarding the status of the fund, which will be presented to the staff.  The Payroll Administrator is responsible for administering this fund.
