Program Description

St. Leonard’s Community Services in partnership with Tim Horton Onondaga Farms provides a 48 hour respite experience, benefitting both parents and their children who have mental health, behavioural or a dual diagnosis (i.e. developmental and mental health/behavioural concerns).

The goals of the Respite Experience are to:

  • Provide parents with an opportunity to “recharge their batteries” by spending time with other family members, shopping or socializing with friends.
  • Provide children/youth with an opportunity for a “camp get away”.

The Respite Experience provides opportunities for children/youth to learn about agriculture, the environment, creative arts and astronomy.  Participants also have an opportunity to participate in a variety of recreation and adventure activities such as swimming, canoeing, kick sledding, rock climbing, archery, etc.

Addictions & Mental Health Hours of Operation:  Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Evening appointments available.
