A. Professional Qualifications

Centre staff and consultants who are legally required to be licensed,
certified or registered by the Province of Ontario, meet the legal
requirements for licensing, certification, or registration.

The centre has appropriately qualified staff.

The centre has a written statement of qualifications and responsibilities for
staff and consultants, including part-time, casual and contract staff.

The statement defines the number of staff and consultants, their
professional disciplines, skills, training and experience.

The hiring practices of the centre are guided by the written statement of
qualifications and responsibilities for staff and consultants.

Centre staff and consultants who are not legally required to be licensed,
certified or registered by the Province of Ontario are eligible for certification
or recognition by their appropriate provincial or national professional
organizations, or have documented equivalent training and experience.

Entry-level staff and staff with limited professional training and/or
experience, as defined by the centre's hiring standards, are assigned duties
matched to their abilities and receive in-service training and supervision by
qualified individuals.

PROFESSIONAL NATURE OF A CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH CENTRE:

located in designated areas for French Language Services.

significant number of persons unable to communicate in either English or

E. Performance Evaluation

performance evaluation policy and at least once a year following the
probationary period.

indicators established by the supervisor in consultation with the staff

The results of the performance evaluation are reviewed by the supervisor
and the staff member and signed by both.

There is opportunity for the staff member to comment about the results of
the performance evaluation, and these comments may be recorded in
writing at the staff member’s request.

Recommendations and decisions for promotion, training and development,

F. Standards for Use of Volunteers and
Students
Note: These Standards apply to volunteers other than Board members.
Volunteers/student standards ensure that appropriate steps are taken by the centre
in recruitment, selection, training, supervision and assignment of responsibilities.
Through written documentation and interviews, the site reviewers should find that
volunteers and students are appropriately placed and receive the necessary support
and supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

F. 2 Formal Volunteer/Student Programs
CENTRES WITH FORMAL VOLUNTEER/STUDENT PROGRAMS ALSO MEET THE

The centre uses volunteers and/or students in an organized manner to
assist the centre or an organization working in partnership with the centre
(e.g., neighbourhood association) to meet its mandate.

Volunteers and/or students are evaluated on a regular basis and the results
of the evaluation are documented.

students. These records include applications, formal contracts or written
agreements with educational institutions, task assignments, attendance,
progress records, and evaluation reports.
