MasterMinds

MasterMinds focuses on teaching skills within Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and how they can be applied to help individuals with both mental health difficulties and substance use.

Goals:

To learn and improve skills is the areas of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance

To practice these skills in a group setting so that participants can use these skills in real-life situations to deal with substance use cravings, manage anxiety or depression, and improve interpersonal relationships
 

Structure:  15-week skills training, closed format. Weekly attendance is required and a certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the group.

Stage of Change:  Preparation /Action

Referral Process:  Requires an internal referral from a Counsellor.                                      

Day/Time/Location:  Wednesdays, 2:30pm – 4:30pm at 133 Elgin St.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Age: 16+
Legal Status: Voluntary or Probation, Parole, CAS referral
Gender: Male and Female
