How your Soup Challenge donations can help young people here in Brantford

Wondering where your donations go? When we say that your contributions the the 17th annual Soup Challenge go towards helping youth facing homelessness here in Brantford and Brant, we mean in very basic, relatable, and impactful ways.

Our shelters and housing programs have a constant need for items such as:

  • Individual hygiene supplies
  • Pyjamas, underwear, socks, and slippers
  • Clothing and shoes
  • Bedding, pillowcases, fitted and flat sheets
  • Plus, floor mats, entrance carpets, and bath towels

Young people who are staying with us also need:

  • City bus passes
  • Gas cards for outings
  • Recreational passes, such as movies, mini golf, Grand River conservation passes
  • Craft supplies

The warmer weather is coming and with the long COVID and several quarantines and lockdowns, people need to get outside. Our residential facilities are looking to provide our guests with:

  • Barbecues for Cornerstone and Station House
  • Barbecue foods
  • Basketball nets
  • Exercise equipment
  • Outdoor (patio) furniture

Plus, we provide support to people in the community who need employment, addictions and mental health services, shelter and housing, and justice services, and we could not do it without your help.
