TEMPORARY PART TIME ADDICTIONS INTAKE ASSISTANT
(Canada Summer Jobs: Contract runs no later than September 1, 2019)
DUTIES: Helps coordinate the screening, orientation and intake of clients to the Addictions and Mental Health programs. Logs clients’ intake documents, activities, movement, progress and statistics; and records and distributes case management/multidisciplinary, case conference/consultation, staff meeting minutes or file documents and case-notes.
Candidates must currently be studying in the Human/Social Services field and possess effective problem-solving and communications skills.
According to Canada Summer Jobs guidelines, applicants must also:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age
- Have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible)
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment and possess strong report-writing skills. Along with the ability to demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diversity, a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and working with databases is required. Must have reliable transportation as some travel may be required.
