Duties

Since 1972, we at Fowler Metal Industries have been blessed with the opportunity to serve North American industries as a metal fabrication company. As innovators in precision metal parts our specialized line of work allows us to produce parts and assemblies for Industrial OEMs in the construction and agricultural sectors. 

Production Labourers are responsible for removing cut parts from metal skeleton. Operators will refer to blueprints or plans of components to ensure quality and appearance of parts meet expectations.

Duties include: 

  • Inspect equipment prior to use for proper working order 

  • Prepare parts repeatedly to blueprint specifications  

  • Check finished product to ensure it meets the requirements 

  • Consistently and safely able to use hand tools 

  • Organize and pile parts safely for the next step in production process 

  • Cross train in other production operations as required 

Safety 

Labourers must safely work in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures and OHSA. All defective equipment or hazards are to be reported immediately to supervisors/managers. Operators will use the following safety equipment as required. 

  • Safety glasses 

  • Steel toe boots 

  • Gloves 

  • Hearing protection 

  • Overhead crane 

  • Face shield 

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting prints and drawings 

  • Physically fit to stand for duration of shift and lift up to 40 lbs unassisted 

  • Understand difference of multiple parts 

  • Able to follow direction and respond to feedback for skill development 

  • Ability to accurately measure parts 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Good communication, both written and verbally 

  • Filling out inspection documents and paper work 

  • Basic computer use
