Youth Employment Skills Strategy - Work Readiness and Advancement Program (WRAP)
WRAP focuses on supporting youth who are experiencing homelessness, precariously housed and who may have mental health/addictions.
Participants of this program will:
- Complete 5 weeks of paid pre-employment training
- Receive industry recommended training and certifications such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling and/or First Aid CPR
- Complete a 12-week paid job placement with a local employer
- Wraparound supports in housing and mental health are also provided
Employers can also gain trained and screened candidates and opportunities for hiring incentives for hiring participants from this program.
Hours of Operation: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Mondays, Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
15 to 30 years old, not in school, and unemployed or working less than 20 hours a week. Note: if under 18 the individual must have SAL status
