Part Time 15 to 20 hours per week
Duties
- Calculate and prepare payroll cheques
- Manage accounts payable
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookeeping systems
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Prepare other financial and accounting reports
- Prepare trial balance of books
- Reconcile accounts - sub ledgers
- Prepare tax returns - HST, Rec Gen, WSIB, T4's
- Reception duties including but not limited to answering phone calls, responding to emails, filing, hall rental bookings, ordering of supplies, etc.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with accounting principles in a not-for-profit environment
- The candidate must be flexible as this position involves three sets of books with different year ends
- MS Excel & Microsoft Word
- P.O.S. Machine
- QuickBooks Desktop - 2 years experience preferred
