Part Time 15 to 20 hours per week

Duties

  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques
  • Manage accounts payable
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts - sub ledgers
  • Prepare tax returns - HST, Rec Gen, WSIB, T4's
  • Reception duties including but not limited to answering phone calls, responding to emails, filing, hall rental bookings, ordering of supplies, etc.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with accounting principles in a not-for-profit environment
  • The candidate must be flexible as this position involves three sets of books with different year ends
  • MS Excel & Microsoft Word
  • P.O.S. Machine
  • QuickBooks Desktop - 2 years experience preferred
