North Park Collegiate Donates to St. Leonard's

North Park Collegiate student Ju Yu presented a cheque to Director of Finance Brad Stark in donation to St. Leonard's Community Services.  Here's what she has to say:

"Stopover is a student produced and directed collaboration about what we have all struggled with in our lives; coming to terms with our inner demons. In this play, you'll see the life of Finn from his early years to late teens, and throughout his life, he has a hard time coming to terms with the monster inside him. This monster exists because of his sexuality, and it convinces him to come out as homosexual to his friends and family, but after receiving negative backlash, he attempts suicide. Thankfully, he survived, and was surrounded by support and love. What Finn needed the most in the play was a safe person to talk to. And since St. Leonards Society is dedicated to offering help to those in crisis, we decided it would be suitable to donate the proceeds of the play to this wonderful organization!"

The cast members are Ju Yu, Reuben Wingfield, David Campbell, Cassidy Dodge, Jessalyn Hammer, Michelle Shortt, Quinn Rankin, Neo Moore, Sarah Kempt, with Hali Cartmel as the student director. Ella Ye was on light production, and Cassidy Wrobel on sound.
