Summer Literacy Tutor

Hours of Work: 

10 week contract, 35 hours per week

Job Duties: 
  • Assist with the preparation of the literacy program
  • Promote the program to area schools
  • Organize registration of eligible students
  • Organize tutoring schedule
  • Tutor and monitor progress of students
  • Record student achievements

    Education: Candidates must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education preferably in an education based program and experience working with elementary school aged children

Job Qualifications: 
  • Candidates should possess strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Candidates should also have a strong ability to organize, adhere to timelines, and work as part of a team is necessary
  • Candidates understand that ability to travel to library branches and other locations is required
