Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRRT)
St. Leonard’s Community Services in partnership with Brantford Police Service and Brant Community Healthcare System have established the Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRRT) which commenced operations in September 2015. The MCRRT is made up of a uniformed police officer and a mental health specialist as a rapid first response for 911 calls involving people with a mental health issue or concern. The program is designed to assist people in the right place, at the right time. Police officers are there to keep everyone in the situation safe while allowing the mental health specialist to use their skills and expertise to directly assist and support the person who is in crisis.
